The Journey Begins...
Have you ever wondered "What's Next?" in your spiritual journey? Do you have questions about your faith or Christianity but aren't sure who to ask? Do you want to learn how to grow in your faith and tell your story? Then come join us for a four-week basic Christianity class entitled The Journey, beginning October 4th during the second service. We will explore where you are in your walk with God, answer some basic faith questions, and learn what it means to be a growing disciple of Christ. Class space is limited so sign up by writing "The Journey" on your connection card (including your name, email address, and phone number) or email David Baumgartner at <> . Operation Christmas Child:  
Now is the time to gather those empty shoeboxes and wrap for Operation Christmas Child! Wraptober is a shoebox wrapping contest designed to see how many of you can wrap as many shoeboxes as you can between 1 – 18 October.  Bring the wrapped boxes to the church, complete the entry form located on the Beautiful Day table, and then place the form in the drop-box.  The winner of the “Wraptober” contest will be announced 25 October and will have the honor of being named the WrapMaster for 2009.  A nice prize is in store too!  See Beautiful Day table for more information to include contest rules.  Please contact Jo Hoover: or www.samaritanspurse.org <http://www.samaritanspurse.org>  for more information.

Children’s Ministry- The Harvest Festival
will be here soon!!  The Festival will be on Friday October 30th from 5:00-7:30.  There will be much more information coming in the next couple of weeks. In preparation for the event we will be having several work days.  If you have a few hours on any of these days we would love to have you join us.  The dates and times are October 10th 9:30am- 12pm, October 24th  9:30am-12:00pm, and October the 28th  9:30am- 1:00pm. We will be setting up all day on the 30th.  Please feel free to come to just come an hour there will be plenty of things that you can do for just that time.

Children’s Ministry
If you would be interested in teaching twice a month for just four or five months in the 1st and 2nd grade, first hour, or would be willing to serve once a month in any of the children’s ministry areas please contact Carolyn Keeler at any of the following: ; 720-851-2300 or 720-271-1651.

Pinecrest Mom’s Group:
Regular meetings will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month.  Call Christy at 303-646-3450 for more information.  We'd love to have you join us! The group is looking for people who would like to do child care the 2nd Monday morning of each month.  This is a paid position. If interested please contact Carolyn Keeler at .
 
Youth Fall Fast Break: Will be October 16th – 18th at Covenant Heights Camp & Retreat Center in Estes Park.  The cost will be $110 per person. Sign up soon!   You must have your release forms turned in and full payment is due by October 11th.  Contact Toby for more information.

Calling All Artists:
Pinecrest Community Church, in connection with The Parker Artists Guild is hosting an art showing around the theme of “EXODUS”.  Art will be displayed by Guild members and Pinecrest artists from Sept. 20th thru Easter of 2010 as we teach through the book of Exodus.  There will be an artist’s reception open to the public, as well as friends and family, on October 11th at Pinecrest. If you are interested in showing a piece you have created, or if you can help in organizing this event, please contact Rowland Smith at .

Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for a place to serve?  We need people to volunteer Wednesday nights from 4:30 – 6:30 to prepare and serve dinner for our youth group. This is a fun and easy way to plug-in, fellowship with other adults while letting  our kids know that they are loved.  You can come for the whole time or part, whatever your schedule allows.  We are specifically looking to fill spots for the month of November.  Contact Kelly at for more information.

Men’s Ministry: We are planning a men’s retreat for Oct 9 – 11 at Glen Eyrie.  The cost is $178 for a double occupancy room this covers all meals, lodging and lesson materials.  Any questions you can reach Paul Foster at 720-219-9962,   or sign up at the connect table.
 
There will a Men’s breakfast at Pinecrest on Saturday Oct 17th at 7:00am.
 
Army/Air Force Football Game Saturday Nov. 7th at 1:30pm.

“The Compassion Box”  With the financial pressures of our culture today, we have a number of Pinecrest families who are facing some pretty pressing needs right now.  If you would like to help, you can make a donation that will go specifically to them through our Elder Team. Donations dropped into “The Compassion Box” and checks marked “Compassion” on them go 100% specifically to help those with these needs.
