Financial Peace University:  We are excited to again be holding the very popular and widely used financial course. We will be offering this 13 week course here at Pinecrest beginning September 22.  Childcare will be available and the cost will be minimal, but is yet to be determined based on the number of children.  The cost of the course is $109 per family for course materials.  We will have scholarships available for those that show they are financially unable to pay for materials.  Please reply to or jot down “Financial Peace” on your connection card.  Class size is limited, so let us know ASAP.
 
Marriage Seminar: Pinecrest is offering a marriage class to help you and your spouse make your relationship stronger.  It will start Sept. 29 and will be held each week thru Nov. 11th and the cost will be $65 per couple.  There is childcare available for a nominal charge and scholarships are available for those wanting to take the class but cannot afford it.  Please contact Tom Christie for more info at 303-646-4417 or write Marriage Seminar on your connection card.
 
Women’s Ministries:  Is getting ready for our fall bible studies, which will begin after Labor Day.  We have three groups to choose from.  There will be a Tuesday morning group meeting at 6219 Northstar Ridge Lane in Parker, from 9:30 to 11:30, contact Suzanne Davidson at 303-841-8133 or Cindy Nelson at 720-851-1726.  The second group will meet Tuesday evenings at 33150 Ridgeview Loop in Elizabeth, contact Marjie Schwartz at 303-408-6823 or Carolyn Keeler at 720-379-6881.  The third group will meet Thursday evenings at 42265 Kingsmill Circle in Parker, contact Sherry Page at 720-981-3957.  Our October service project is the Harvest Festival being held on Friday October 30th from 5 – 7:30 pm.  
 
Children’s Ministry is looking for people who would be willing to serve once a month. Calling All Artists: Pinecrest Community Church, in connection with The Parker Artists Guild will be hosting an art showing around the theme of “EXODUS”.  Art will be displayed by Guild members and Pinecrest artists from Sept. 20th thru Easter of 2010 as we teach through the book of Exodus.  There will be an artist’s reception open to the public, as well as friends and family, on October 11th at Pinecrest.  If you are interested in showing a piece you have created, or if you can help in organizing this event, please contact Rowland Smith at .
 
Pinecrest Mom’s Group: Regular meetings begin on September 14th and will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month.  Call Christy at 303-646-3450 for more information.  We'd love to have you join us!  The group is looking for people who would like to do child care the 2nd Monday morning of each month.  This is a paid position. Volunteer Opportunities
Are you looking for a place to serve?  We need people to volunteer Wednesday nights from 4:30 – 6:30 to prepare and serve dinner for our youth group. This is a fun and easy way to plug-in, fellowship with other adults while letting  our kids know that they are loved.  You can come for the whole time or part, whatever your schedule allows.  We are specifically looking to fill spots for the month of September.  Contact Kelly at for more information.
 
The Pinecrest office is looking for people to volunteer one or two days a week, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 1-4 p.m. You would be answering phones, folding and stuffing bulletins, and copying curriculum.  If interested please contact Carolyn at or 720-851-2300.  
 
Men’s Ministry: We are planning a men’s retreat for Oct 9 – 11 at Glen Eyrie.  The cost is $178 for a double occupancy room this covers all meals, lodging and lesson materials.  Also on Sept. 19th we are having another Trap-Shoot Event.  This time around it is open to anyone above 10 years of age who would like to participate.  Any questions you can reach Paul Foster at 720-219-9962 or .
 
Operation Christmas Child:  Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love.  Last year the Pinecrest Relay Center collected 654 boxes for this mission!  This year, let’s continue to provide love and hope to children around the world.  National Collection week is November 16 – 23, start gathering shoebox goodies now.
 
Volunteer opportunities to support Operation Christmas Child are available.  Look in the lobby for more information and sign-ups in the next few weeks.  Together we will reach millions of children in need with the joy of Christmas and the hope of Jesus Christ.

 “The Compassion Box”  With the financial pressures of our culture today, we have a number of Pinecrest families who are facing some pretty pressing needs right now.  If you would like to help, you can make a donation that will go specifically to them through our Elder Team. Donations dropped into “The Compassion Box” and checks marked “Compassion” on them go 100% specifically to help those with these needs.
