The storms of life.  This is an image that resonates with us all because we’ve all experienced the storms of life at one time or another.  In our story this week (found in Mark 4:35-41) the disciples find themselves literally in a storm that endangers their lives.  And they respond as we often do – trying to fix it ourselves, turning to God at the last minute, wondering if God even cares about what’s going on, and astonished when He comes through.  Join us Sunday for one of our two services as Pastor David unpacks this story (one of his favorites) and gives us six principles from the story that we can apply in our own lives!

LifeGroups give you the opportunity to connect—deeply and intimately—with other believers. They’re a safe place to hold one another accountable, be authentic, and learn how to love Jesus! Life is not always easy. Sometimes it’s downright hard. LifeGroups provide a safe place for healing and support—it’s the church in action.

LifeGroups are absolutely central to everything we do here at Pinecrest. We aren’t just a church with LifeGroups, we are a church of LifeGroups. It’s the place to see Jesus change us, to get to know other people, care for one another, and serve our community.

We know it’s often hard to join a new group, but we’re working hard to make it as easy as possible to get started and it’s our goal for every person who attends Pinecrest to get involved in a LifeGroup. You need them…and they need you. Our groups run three time a year and they fit into the cycles of life. Our first sessions begin at the start of the year, then we have summer groups, and fall groups start up as kids head back to school.

Our Summer LifeGroup Sessions is going on right now and last through the end of July.

Fall 2012 LifeGroup Registration

The Fall Session of LifeGroups will start registration in the month of August. The Fall Session will run from September through November.

Spring 2013 LifeGroup Registration

The Spring 2013 Session of LifeGroups will start registration in during January 2013. The Spring Session runs from February through April.

IN OUR NATION
 Kurt Naber recently announced a summer mission trip to help out the flooded region of Benton, MO during the week of June 17-22. The cost is low (under $300) and we’ll be spending a week helping people in the community put their lives back together. Again, you don’t need any special talents or abilities just a heart to help people who need it. Let us know you’re interested by filling out a Connection Card and we’ll get you more details.

AROUND THE WORLD
Last year we took 5 people to Cambodia to serve those in prisons, orphanages, caught in human trafficking, and the military. This year we’re going back and we’re adding a second trip to Africa—Tanzania. Both trips will occur during the last week of October (into the first week of November) and we need people with medical skills (although that isn’t required to go on either trip). Start praying now about how God wants you to be involved in one of these trips and let us know you’re interested by filling out a Connection Card. More details to come soon…stay tuned!
